I have the honour to request that

arrangements may be made for the selection of a

suitable officer to fill a vacancy in the cadre of

Overseers, Public Works Department, Waterworks

sub-department, in accordance with the enclosed

Particulars of Office and to recommend that special

consideration be given to Mr. William Fasken Coutts

whose application for employment is enclosed herewith.

Mr. Coutts was employed by this Government

for three years on the construction of the Shing

Mun Dam. He is reported to be an excellent and

reliable mechanic and though he is thirty-six years

of age his knowledge of local conditions makes him

a very suitable candidate for this post. His address
